PAX Judicial Training in Barcelona - PRESS RELEASE

It is a pleasure to inform you about the successful organisation of the second PAX Judicial Training at the University of Barcelona on the 19 & 20 September 2022.
Selected judges and trainee judges from across the EU had the opportunity to participate in a range of lectures and workshops dealing with various topical private international law questions ranging from consumer protection, influence of Brexit on private international law to the application of the European Payment Order Regulation.
The judicial training was also attended by the project partners from the University of Antwerp, University of Maastricht, University of Ljubljana, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Asser Institute and the University of Barcelona.
We are thankful to the European Commission for funding PAX Project and enabling us to organise the judicial training.

PAX Judicial Training in Ljubljana - PRESS RELEASE

We are pleased to inform you about the successful completion of the first PAX Judicial Training, which took place at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana on the 16 & 17 June 2022.
The judicial training was attended by 20 judges and trainee judges from 8 EU Member States and project partners from University of Antwerp, University of Barcelona, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Université Paris Dauphine, Asser Institute and University of Ljubljana.
The judicial training offered two days of interesting lectures and workshops on topical issues of EU Private International Law as well as plenty of opportunities for lively discussions and exchanges.
We are thankful to all participants for their excellent input and to the European Commission for funding PAX Project, which enabled us the organisation of the training.

The first judicial training of the PAX Project is quickly approaching. It will take place at the Law faculty of the University of Ljubljana on the 16 and 17 June 2022.

PAX Moot 2022 - Results

The Oral Rounds of the PAX Moot 2022 are successfully completed!
This year's winner is the University of Ljubljana. The runner-up is the team from the Ghent University.
The award for the best written memorial went to Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and University of Vienna.The best pleader of the oral rounds was Santiago García Parga from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Congratulations to the winning teams and a big thank you to all participating students for helping us create three unforgettable days!
A special thank you goes to the European Commission for their financial support of the PAX Moot Court and to the Université Paris Dauphine and Sciences Po for hosting us in Paris!

We are looking forward to hot teams from the EU Member States as well as teams from around the globe who share our interest in private international law.

This year's competition is dedicated and bears the name of Prof Alegría Borrás Rodríguez.

The oral rounds of the PAX Moot 2022 - von Mehren Round are successfully completed. Despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we are thrilled about the excellent pleadings by the teams and the quality of their legal argumentation!

The (provisional) schedule of the Virtual Oral Rounds of the Pax Moot 2021 is now published. Please visit the Home page to see the schedule.
Please note that last minute changes could still occur.
PAX Moot - Oral Rounds (21-23 April 2021)

The oral rounds of the competition will be conducted in a fully remote manner online, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Therefore, all of the teams who have submitted their written memoranda (24 teams in total) will be able to participate in the oral general rounds, where each Team will plead twice as Claimant, twice as Defendant.
The schedule of the competition and technical details about the oral rounds will follow in due course.
